...the camera never lies...
In the summer of 2008, Sarah palin introduces a bill that will open up vast swathes of Alaskan wilderness to speculative drilling, despite the adverse environmental impact.
The same day, documentary maker Ben Richards is found by Alaskan detectives floating unconscious on the Kenai River with trauma induced memory loss. His partner, Emma, no longer with him.
Regaining consciousness, Ben absconds from hospital and begins to hunt for Emma, following the trail of documentary footage as it guides him to an abandoned copper mine that holds the secret to her disappearance. Suspicious of his behaviour Detectives Ellis and Nusbaum meanwhile give chase, following Ben as he returns to the scene of the crime.
But the footage only reveals so much and as Ben’s obsession with finding Emma grows, so does his reliance on the tapes, until gradually he begins to film again.
And so a new ending to the documentary begins to emerge...
...An ending about revenge.
